Meet Ty

Ty is a very rare hybrid known as a tiliger. His mother was a liger and his father was a tiger, giving him a unique appearance and personality that make him one of the sanctuary's most recognizable residents.

Ty arrived from the same facility as Charlie in 2023 following the passage of the Big Cat Public Safety Act.

The Big House Cat

Despite his impressive size, Ty is often nicknamed the sanctuary's "big ole house cat." He has a sweet demeanor and enjoys spending time around both staff and guests.

When he wants extra attention, Ty is known for "mooing" at people until they stop and visit with him.

A Playful Neighbor

Most days Ty can be found relaxing on his platform and watching the activity around him. Every now and then, however, he enjoys trying to play with nearby neighbors Mavuto and Matula.
