Meet Kora

Kora is the only Bengal tiger currently living at National Tiger Sanctuary. He was rescued from a roadside zoo in Oklahoma and arrived carrying a great deal of anxiety and uncertainty.

Through patience, consistency, and compassionate care, Kora has grown into one of the sanctuary's most expressive and talkative residents.

Finding His Confidence

Kora enjoys spending his days relaxing in patches of tall grass or quietly observing the world around him from his favorite grove of trees.

While he may prefer a calm environment, his personality shines through in the many vocalizations he uses to communicate with staff and visitors.

A Unique Resident

Bengal tigers are known for their striking orange coats and bold black stripes. Kora's journey from a difficult beginning to a safe and permanent home is a reminder of the difference that dedicated lifelong care can make in the life of a rescued animal.
