Kiara & Nala

Two inseparable lioness sisters

Kiara and Nala at National Tiger Sanctuary

Meet Kiara & Nala

Kiara and Nala are sisters and are also the sisters of Raffiel. The two lionesses share an exceptionally close bond and prefer to stay together whenever possible.

Staff often describe them as nearly identical. One of the easiest ways to tell them apart is by the number of spots on their noses.

Always Side by Side

These sisters dislike being separated and will often find ways to remain close to one another throughout the day. Whether they are relaxing, exploring their habitat, or resting in the shade, Kiara and Nala are usually found together.

A Strong Sisterly Bond

Female lions often form strong social bonds within a pride, and Kiara and Nala are a wonderful example of that connection. Their relationship reflects the close companionship lionesses are known for and makes them a special part of the sanctuary family.
