Carma
A gentle white tiger with a one-of-a-kind hello.
Meet Carma
Carma is a beautiful white tiger whose gentle personality has made her a beloved member of the National Tiger Sanctuary family. She was rescued in 2017 as part of a large-scale effort to provide white tigers with a safe, lifelong home.
Since arriving at the sanctuary, Carma has shown the people who care for her just how unique and expressive she can be. She has her own way of greeting familiar staff and letting her personality shine.
Her Special Chuff
One of the most memorable things about Carma is her one-of-a-kind chuff. Chuffing is a friendly tiger greeting, and Carma often uses it to say hello to staff she knows and trusts.
Hearing Carma greet someone with a chuff is a special moment. It is one of the many ways she shows her comfort, personality, and connection with the people who care for her each day.
Life at the Sanctuary
Carma enjoys spending her days finding the perfect napping spot and tending to her backyard plants. On some days, she may play in her pool or try to play with Baby, her neighbor.
With her gentle nature, friendly greetings, and relaxed personality, Carma is a wonderful example of the individuality each resident brings to National Tiger Sanctuary.
