Matula came from the same pride as Niara and Etana, although she was eventually separated due to compatibility and bullying concerns. Today, she thrives in her own space where her energetic personality shines.
Known for her sweet nature and endless enthusiasm, Matula is one of the sanctuary's most active lionesses.
Always Ready to Play
Matula loves interactive enrichment and enjoys playing games with staff. She is especially proud of her hunting skills and is always eager to show them off during feeding time.
Her playful attitude and determination have earned her a reputation as the sanctuary's tug-of-war champion.
A Natural Hunter
Lionesses are the primary hunters within a pride, and Matula displays many of those natural instincts through stalking, chasing, and engaging with enrichment activities throughout the day.
