I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Sheena. After all the cruelty and misery she was put through by other humans, she finally was at a place that would/could/and did take excellent care of her. At least she lived out the rest of her life in the company of humans who truly cared for her. My deepest condolences--to all of us, as we have lost a truly magnificent cat.

For all of those that loved and took care of Sheena-she will be missed terribly but is in a better place.

BEYOND THE RAINBOW
As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade

I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, an on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful - lush and green and wide
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do
I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright glow pierced the night
"Twas the glow of many candles, shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in it's brilliant shades of gold.
For although we may not be together in the way we used to be
We are still connected by a cord no one can see
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart

I search for tiger news daily to post to my blogs and group pages, and I most definitely remember Sheena and her rescue from the puppy mill. I am very sorry to learn of her passing. Please accept my condolences. This is a beautiful tribute to Sheena - I love the picture of her, she looks like a happy tiger in it.

My sweet Sheena...my heart breaks knowing you are gone but I know you are climbing, running and playing where you are now. Thank you for sharing your time with us and letting us see how beautiful you were. Prayers and tears for Judy, Keith, Georgia and the rest of the family. We will see you soon.

We are so sad to hear about the passing of Sheena! I first heard of her story last summer on the local news. How could anyone do this to a living creature? It was obvioulsy someone without a soul and with no regard to the basic rights of this beautiful animal. So we decided to adopt her through NTS. We came down only once (i regret only making it down just 1 time) but she was just as beautiful and sweet as described! I am sick and sad at heart about her death. I can't imagine how difficult this is for the people that spent time and cared for her every day. You are all heroes!! That term gets thrown around way too much these days but you all are truly the definition of the word. My family and I will adopt another Tiger TODAY in honor of Sheena and for all the tigers at NTS. I hope and pray Sheena is at peace, free of pain and having fun laying in the sun!
